EQUIPMENT LIST
Trent Studios has lots of "state-of-the-art" equipment.   Too much to list actually, but here is a partial list of the tools we use in the studio.   The pics probably don't do much justice to the actual products.  I just ran out to the studio and snapped some quick pictures.        -Mark

  • I'm going to start the list with the heart of Trent Studios.   This would be the software.   I have used Cakewalk products for recording for nearly as long as Cakewalk has been in existence.   I have been updating as Cakewalk evolved and now I am using the latest Cakewalk software,  Sonar.   It is an excellent program with lots of editing features and a fantastic sound engine.   I also have lots of plugins and some other editing software, but Sonar is the heart and soul of Trent Studios.
  • For recording I have two monster computers.   The main computer was built strictly for recording and I had it shipped from Washington State.   It was built by Pugent Sound and they did an EXCELLENT job.    I also have another computer with just samples on it.   An M-Audio midi controller keyboard is tied to this machine and creates astonishly realistic instrument sounds (strings, pianos, keyboards, etc., etc.).
  • Connected to the main computer is my Allen & Heath mixing board and various preamps that plug straight into my computer soundcard (Analog to Digital converter) which is a Delta 1010.   I have two Delta 1010s in my studio at this time.
  • I have three rooms.  The control room is where all the equipment is located and then there is a "recording room" where the musicians usually record.   The recording room was built after studying  sound-proofing and acoustic treatment on the internet for about five years.   The room is nearly soundproof and it is also acoustically treated with bass traps as well as mid and high frequency tamers made and designed by the company Auralex.   The third room is a lounge of sorts with a comfortable couch and nice chairs and a table.
  • Some of the microphones are listed above.   I also have many that are not listed.  Ones not pictured above are brands such as:  ElectroVoice, Nady, Radio Shack, Peavey, and a handful of microphones that I can't think of at the moment.
  • Musicians are welcome to use any of my instruments under my supervision.   I have various acoustic, classical, and electric guitars of high quality.   I also have a nice bass guitar as well as the M-Audio keyboard with a sustain pedal that connects to the samples computer.
  • I have three headphone amps, so as many as a dozen headphones can be used as at one time.  One headphone amp is located in the lounge area adjoining the studio and musicians who are not doing their parts at the time can listen in on what's going on in the studio as they rest up.
  • Mood lighting and a relaxed atmosphere top off the list.   There is also a refrigerator where folks can store their favorite bevarage or purchase drinks from Trent Studios.   Absolutely no minors are allowed to drink adult beverages, so please do not even ask.   Trent Studios only sells water and soft drinks.   There is also a microwave oven at the studios' disposal.
